Andrew Brewster BSc BM MRCP – Regional Champion, is a General Practitioner in Reading whose interest in obesity developed following a specialist interest in type 2 diabetes.

Andrew lectures locally on the Warwick Certificate of Diabetes Care course and Insulin Conversion Course in Reading . He is also an advisory board member of the Thames Valley Diabetes Research Network.

More recently he has focussed attention towards diabetes prevention and attempts to optimise cardiovascular risk via weight management and waist reduction. He has developed the two-session BAROMETER expert patient weight management programme which he runs on alternate Saturday mornings at his surgery.

Andrew is a member of the Berkshire West Obesity Strategy Group.

He has developed the Cut the Waist brand and website.
